Lorraine Baptiste
(She/Her)
MSW, BSW, RSW, RSSW, Psychotherapist
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW/MSW) and Psychotherapist. I obtained my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, and my practice is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep commitment to equity and social justice.
As someone with lived experience of racism and marginalization, I bring a personal understanding of the systemic barriers that shape mental health and well‑being. These experiences inform my passion for psychotherapy and my dedication to creating inclusive, affirming spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.
I work with older adults, youth, and families navigating a range of mental health challenges. My approach integrates evidence‑based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma‑informed care, Anti‑Oppressive Practice (AOP), and strength‑based methods. I strive to move away from deficit‑based models, centering the inherent strengths and resilience each person carries.
I offer BIPOC‑affirming, culturally humble care and welcome clients from diverse backgrounds. I am also an NIHB‑approved provider for First Nations (status) and Inuit clients. My goal is to build therapeutic relationships rooted in trust, respect, and shared understanding.
