Lorraine Baptiste, RSW, RSSW, MSW (Candidate)

Psychotherapist I am a Registered Social Worker and Registered Social Service Worker, currently completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. My practice is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep commitment to equity and social justice.

As someone with lived experience of racism and marginalization, I bring a unique and personal understanding of the systemic barriers that impact mental health and well-being. These experiences have shaped my passion for psychotherapy and my dedication to creating inclusive, affirming spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. I work with older adults, youth, and families navigating mental health challenges, using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, Anti-Oppressive Practice (AOP), and strength-based methods. I strive to move away from deficit-based models, instead focusing on the inherent strengths and resilience of each person.

Fluent in English, I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and am committed to fostering therapeutic relationships built on trust, respect, and shared understanding.

Life can be overwhelming. Whether you’re navigating a major transition, coping with grief, managing anxiety, or simply feeling stuck, you deserve a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

At Elnor Walsh Counselling Psychotherapy Wellness, I offer compassionate, client-centred therapy tailored to your unique needs. I’m a registered social worker with over 29 years of experience in human services, and I bring warmth, authenticity, and deep respect to every session.

My practice is rooted in a strength-based approach—focused on your resilience, wisdom, and capacity for growth. I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, Anti-Oppressive Practice (AOP), and strength-based methods as I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to explore our stories, emotions, and challenges without judgment.

I work collaboratively, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to support adults through stress, trauma, relationship changes, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. Sessions are paced to meet you where you are, and I continue to evolve my practice through ongoing learning and professional development.

Whether you’re seeking short-term support or longer-term healing, I offer a safe and inclusive space to reflect, reconnect, and move forward—at your own pace and in your own way.

Above all, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, insight, and strong respect for your journey.
